Maintaining Safety and Privacy While Using the Internet

Older adults lose as much as $36 billion annually to financial exploitation, and the internet is a prime tool for scammers. As we integrate digital technologies into every aspect of our lives, it can be hard to make informed choices about the privacy and security risks that come with them. It’s a fact that online scammers target older adults, so it’s important that you are proactively protecting yourself.

Techniques to protect yourself online:

If you have been the victim of a scam in Maryland – whether online or otherwise, it’s important that you report the scam to law enforcement. Here are the agencies that you should report to.
