Debt Settlement Watch

Debt Settlement firms promise to reduce consumers' debt and help them maintain their credit; however, many firms simply took consumers' funds and did nothing to help them with their debt. MCRC worked with partners to regulate the industry in Maryland and educate consumers about how to decrease their debt. MCRC's "Debt Settlement Watch" newsletter reports regularly on breaking news, new regulations and new litigation about the debt settlement industry.
